Do You Also Celebrate Fat Thursday?

www.stylowi.pl
Fat Thursday (German Fetter Donnerstag, Schmotziger Donnerstag, or in areas where carnival is celebrated Weiberfastnacht; Greek Τσικνοπέμπτη (Tsiknopempti); Polish (Tłusty czwartek); Hungarian (torkos csütörtök) is a traditional Christian feast marking the last Thursday before Lent and is associated with the celebration of Carnival. Because Lent is a time of fasting, the next opportunity to feast would not be until Easter. It is similar to, but should not be confused with, the French festival of Mardi Gras ("Fat Tuesday"). Traditionally it is a day dedicated to eating, when people meet in their homes or cafés with their friends and relatives and eat large quantities of sweets, cakes and other meals forbidden during Lent. Among the most popular all-national dishes served on that day are pączki or berliner, fist-sized donuts filled with rose marmalade, and faworki, French dough fingers served with lots of powdered sugar.[WIKIPEDIA]

No to smacznego!

Neuhaus Chocolatier

megulencja.blogspot.be
When it is raining outsider there is nothing better than a sip of dense, hot chocolate. Finally I found a chocolaterie in Brussels, where they serve this drink as it should be: dense, not too sweet with a deep flavour that can be also break with some hot milk in an extra jug. What’s more interesting the chocolaterie is owned by Neuhaus firm, which first began to produce the chocolate pralines in Brussels. It all began in 1857 when Jean Neuhaus opened... pharmacy. Yes, a pharmacy! Mr Neuhaus covered his medicines in a layer of chocolate to make them more palatable. Brilliant idea, don’t you think? However, it was his grandson Jean Neuhaus Jr who improved the idea of his grandfather in 1912 by replacing the medicines with fresh cream and creating the first filled chocolates, which he called “praline”. To this day you can taste the goodies, and now also a delicious, hot chocolate in a small cafe next to the main store of Neuhaus. I highly recommend it!

Polecam!

Sniff Sniff

megulencja.blogspot.be

Sleepy, but still full of motivation. This morning I went (of course on the bike) for blood tests. Landscape in Brussels is strongly hilly, so it was quite a challenge for me to get to the doctor's cabinet. Unfortunately it wasn’t really good for my health and I came to work with hoarsenes and runny nose. I hope the tea with honey and decent bask under the blanket in the evening will bring me a relief. Fortunately tomorrow will be a lighter day when it comes to exercise, because I have only 50 squats to do. Today my M. will be making a pumpkin soup. I promise that I get our of bed to make some nice pictures for you :) And my menu for today is: banana, coffee, Greek yogurt with muesli and mandarins, Greek yogurt with muesli and apple, pumpkin soup. What do you recommend for sore muscles?
